The Experience
Southern Breeze Lodge offers a unique fishing experience surrounded by the picturesque Louisiana landscape. The lodge offers private accommodations and a comfortable atmosphere that will make you feel at home.
The guided experience is a 4-night, 3-day fishing (Friday to Sunday, all-inclusive) program that will allow you to get a taste for all that Southern Louisiana has to offer: from bayous that meander through the marshes that connect to the Gulf of Mexico and cypress swamps that host some of the most diverse ecosystems in the country.
You are responsible for your own transportation to Southern Breeze. Transportation from the airport is not provided. I’ll be renting a car. If it works out, you may be able to catch a ride with me, but I can’t promise that. It’s about an hour and a half from the airport to the lodge. We will be going to restaurants each night, and beer will be provided at the lodge.
I’ll be picking up catered breakfast and lunches each day. Breakfast will be at the lodge, basics like bacon and eggs, yogurt, fruit, etc. Lunch will be sandwiches and chips. The breakfast and lunch menus haven’t been finalized.
Once we eat in the morning we will go put the boats out with our three talented guides. Each boat will have one guide and two anglers.
For dinner, we will be going out to restaurants each night. We won’t need to drive far. The seafood is excellent.
Breakfast is not provided on the morning of Nov 4.
I will provide beer for while we’re fishing or chilling at the lodge, and I will cover beer and wine with dinner. Liquor is not included.
We will be leaving in the morning of Nov 4th. If you would like to leave after the final fishing trip on the 3rd, you are more than welcome to get a head start home.

The Fishing
If you are beginning saltwater fly fishing, this trip is for you. Most of our shots are only 30-40 feet, with some being much shorter. Bull redfish dominate the Louisiana coastal waters, but you can also expect to encounter some black drum, sheephead, and smaller redfish.
Our gear consists of 8 and 9 weight rods with 16-20lb leaders. For flies, mostly shrimp and crab flies with varying weights depending on different depths in the water column.
