A Secluded, Tropical Paradise
Join Me In The Berry Islands
I'm excited to offer a new trip to Soul Fly Lodge in the Bahamas! We'll be off the beaten path in the Berry Islands searching for larger than average bonefish and also permit. We'll travel to Soul Fly Lodge on a private chartered plane to experience amazing fishing, incredible food, a comfortable lodge on the ocean, and a sense of island community.
The Berry Islands offer un-pressured fishing, there are no other lodges with skiffs. We'll primarily be looking for bonefish on white sand flats, but if you would like to challenge yourself and hunt for permit, that is an option. The Berry Islands have more permit than most other areas of the Bahamas, so be sure to bring your 8 and 9 weight fly rods and put them to the test.
Five NIghts At Soul Fly Lodge
At Soul Fly Lodge, the fishing is as pure as it gets. Their waters offer firm, white sand flats, lush turtle grass, and intricate mangrove edges; all of which are ideal for stalking tailing bonefish and hunting permit. Whether you’re poling across gin-clear shallows or wading on foot, every shot is earned and memorable. With year-round opportunity and short skiff runs to the flats, fishing with Soul Fly is the Bahamas fly fishing experience you’re craving.
Four Days Of Bonefish & Permit
The fishing is centered around Great Harbour Cay’s white sand flats, mangroves, and backcountry creeks. While bonefish are the primary draw—ranging from 2 to over 10 pounds and often found in large groups—the lodge is also a premier destination for Bahamian permit. Whether you are wading firm sands or poling the edges, the fishery provides a challenging mix of trophy catches and unique wildlife encounters in a pristine, uncrowded environment.
Kalik, Rum &
Conch Fritters
We will have renowned Bahamian Chef Valentino Adderley, all to ourselves. Chef wields his deep knowledge of the culinary arts and fine local ingredients like free range chicken eggs, snapper, conch, grouper, lobster, herbs from the garden and, if you’re lucky, a stone crab claw or two at The Carriearl Roost—their on-site restaurant and bar.
The Bonefish
At Soul Fly Lodge, you’ll step onto firm, wadable flats where bonefish tail and feed in water often no deeper than your shin. Expect quality fish ranging from 2–10+ pounds, with an average size around 3–4 pounds. Whether you prefer stalking fish on foot or from a skiff, Great Harbour Cay offers a flexible, world-class fishery with short runs, diverse habitats, and truly aspirational bonefishing opportunities.
The Permit
The waters offer technical permit shots over mottled bottle, turtle grass, and white sand edges. You'll work with guides who understand their movement, behavior, and timing, helping you capitalize on the moment all flats anglers dream about. From solo cruisers to small pods, permit sightings can happen year-round, with the best conditions often aligning in spring, late summer, and fall.
The Lodge
Soul Fly Lodge was designed with both anglers and non-anglers in mind. Nestled on the ocean side of Great Harbour Cay, this boutique property features just the right mix of comfort and character. Whether you’re swapping stories by the pool, enjoying a cocktail on the terrace, or kicking back after a full day on the flats, this is where serious fishing and laid-back living meet.
Food & Beer
This is an all-inclusive trip with all food and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). The Head Chef Valentino Adderley and kitchen team impresses guests with an inventive menu designed around local ingredients and unique takes on Bahamian fare. The full bar has us Covered from spirits to beer. And there are multiple indoor/outdoor lounge areas that will give us plenty of room to spread out and relax.
We're Flying Private
Just get yourself to Ft. Lauderdale and everything is taken care of after that. We'll have a private chartered plane transporting us to and from Great Harbour Cay. This $870 value is included in the trip cost. The lodge will pick us up from the airport on Great Harbour and take us to Soul Fly, just a few minutes away. This is the most convenient way to get there, avoiding Nassau and potentially an extra travel day.
