LET'S GO FISHING
Come fish the Green with me and make some new friends! If your idea of a good time is chilling in a boat and harassing fish with some like-minded people, you're gonna have fun on this trip.
Amazing fishing and fascinating history are what the Green River is all about, and as I've stated many times on the channel, this is my favorite western trout river. There is a reason why I leave the trout fishing in our backyard to fish the Green as often as I can. It’s that good.
The Green River in Northern Utah is a world-famous tailwater trout fishery with 15,000 fish per mile living in its crystal clear waters. Accessible by boat or on foot, the river is divided into 3 sections; A, B, and C, which together offer about 30 miles of incredible trout fishing.
An All-Inclusive Experience
This Huge Hosted Trip offers four nights of lodging and three days of guided float fishing. You’ll arrive at Red Canyon Lodge on the afternoon of July 14. You can fish the pond on-site or just hang out on the porch of your cabin and have a beer with Ben. Dinner will be at the lodge restaurant.
Day one you’ll have breakfast at the lodge before meeting your guide from Spinner Fall Guide Service for a day of floating and fishing. You’ll fish a full day, two anglers per boat, and return to the lodge for drinks, dinner, and telling lies about your day.
Rinse and repeat for days two and three. Day four you’ll have breakfast at the lodge then you’ll be cut loose to return to real life.
30 Miles Of World-Class Trout Fishing
Dry flies and streamers are the goal of this trip. There may be a little nymphing, but hopefully not much. I specifically chose Spinner Fall Guide Service for this trip because they fish how I like to fish, pounding banks with hoppers and streamers. Leave your bobbers at home!
Primarily brown and rainbow trout, the fish are big and strong. 6-8 weight rods with a sink tip or intermediate line are appropriate for streamer fishing. A 5 or 6-weight rod will be great for dry flies. Leaders and tipped from 2X to 5X are great. Sometimes smaller bugs are better, hence the 5X.
Red Canyon Lodge
Situated on a small lake full of trout, Red Canyon Lodge offers comfortable cabin accommodations in a forest setting.
The on-site restaurant offers convenient dining and the front porches of the cabins are the perfect venue for cracking a beer after a day of fishing.
